Impression on Our Hearts

The following verse is in reference to Jesus Christ walking alongside Cleopas and friend on their way to Emmaus:

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures (Luke 24:32)?

The above verse is dedicated to the memory of a dear friend, Kent Jackson, who "finished the race" yesterday. I believe God brought Kent into many lives to cause our hearts to burn within as he talked with us by the way. May you rest in peace--Ernest K. Jackson.

Live By Every Word of God

And Jesus answered him (Satan), saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:4).

Personal note: I am going to try a different approach on the blog. Each day I am going to enter a Bible verse as an entry and later in the week combine the entries for one message.

I hope you are enjoying the blog and are benefitting from it. Questions, comments criticisms, and discussions are always welcome! Love and Blessings to you!

More Reason to Call Upon the Lord

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

Saved? Saved from what? Saved from eternal life in hell!

Call Upon the Lord

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee (Psalms 86:5)

Words to Heed for Earth, Earth, Earth Day

O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord (Jeremiah 22:29).

Remain Steadfast

You have probably noticed after you have walked regularly with the Lord in praying, reading and following His Word that if you miss out on any of the walk for even a moment you become fearful, spiritually weak, hateful and confused. Satan senses our vulnerability and quickly acts. This is why we must remain steadfast in the Lord and give no ground to Satan.

The Word of God is our Spiritual Food and we need it often. It is our way to eternal life (John 6:63, 2 Corinthians 3:6). God freely gives us the Spirit when we believe and are willing to go to Him in prayer, reading and following the Word. We are to go to God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

God's Spirit sustains us on earth--"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). All of which is freedom in the Lord (I Corinthians 3:17).

Prayer Verse

If you are feeling distant from God and wish to draw closer to Him, Psalms 51:12 is a helpful prayer verse:

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Glory to Glory

In our continuous walk with the Lord, we become more and more like Him. We become more Christly. God's glory, through work of the Holy Spirit, shines through us and we glow for God's glory. There comes a noticeable difference in us. To God be the Glory!

18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Always Be Ready

We must always have our hearts ready and prepared for the return of Jesus.

40) Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not (Luke 12:40).

No Worries

When we find ourselves worrying about serving others, Jesus lets us know in Luke 10:38-42 that we are not to worry, but to choose His Word. The Word of Jesus is the one needful thing and good part which shall not be taken from us. It is good to serve others, but Jesus' Word takes precedence.

Warnings for Evildoers

In Psalms 37:9, David makes a reference to evildoers:

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

Verse 28 says, "...the seed of the wicked shall be cut off."

The work of the evildoer will eventually come to a halt. The children of God are not to be anxious of the wicked or envious of the good that seems to come to them from their evil deeds. God's children are to wait patiently on the Lord and do good.

Psalms 37 has many encouraging and comforting words for followers of God and woes for the wicked.

Do Unto Others

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would do that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets (Matthew 7:12).

Doers Are on Good Ground

A sure way of keeping the Word of God planted in our heart and to keep Satan from taking it from us is to put the Word into action. When we receive God's Word "...in an honest and good heart..." and keep the Word by patiently bringing forth fruit, we are on good ground, therefore, being "...doers of the word..." which helps us to remember the Word. In remembering and performing God's Word, we keep Satan away! The inward Word becomes outward!

For reference of this blog entry, turn to Luke 8:15 and James 1:22-24. God Bless you on your walk with God!

Good Ground vs. Wayside

Our adversary, Satan, does not want us to receive and keep the Word of God. Satan walks around seeking to devour us and to separate us from God. We must be vigilant and hold on to God's Word, otherwise, Satan will take the Word from our hearts to keep us from believing and being saved. Satan wants to keep us on the wayside. God wants us to stand on good ground.

For your review and personal study, turn to I Peter 5:8 and Luke 8:4-15.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for your help in permanently placing Your Word on our hearts to keep Satan far from us and to keep Your Message from being stolen! I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen!

God Knows Our Hearts

God communicates to us through His Word. If we receive His Word, our faith increases and a closer walk with God develops. In this walk, God always knows what is on our hearts and will lead us to more of the Word pertaining to our life situation.

12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Everlasting Life

We need to be concerned about life on earth as well as our everlasting life in the hereafter. My hope is that you consider yourself worthy of life everlasting in heaven, instead of everlasting life in hell.

Our preparation for heaven or hell starts in the present. Listening to and believing God's Word for salvation in Christ is preparation for heaven. Refusing to hear God's Word and not believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior is preparation for hell.

It is too late to get into heaven after life on earth. If you are not prepared for heaven, hell is where you will go forever in torment. For a vivid description of one's experience in hell, turn to Luke 16:23-31. These verses make me want to turn God and heaven. The verses also make me want to share the Word with my brothers and sisters before it is too late. We have no promise of tomorrow.

My prayer for you is that you will turn to God for forgiveness and become a member of God's family. I pray that you accept Jesus as your personal Savior and forever become a child of God. A child of God on earth and in heaven! God Bless You!

Forever and Always

It is comforting to know in this ever-changing world that Jesus remains the same and always will. "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8).

Psalms 102: 12, 27 acknowledges our infinite Lord:

12) But thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

27) But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

Who is Antichrist?

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son (I John 2:22).

One in Christ

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ (Galatians 3:28).

Waiting, Waiting

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him (Psalms 62:5).

Forgiveness

"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do..." (Luke 23:34). These are the words of forgiveness uttered by Jesus toward His persecutors while He was hanging on the cross. Even in His weakness, Jesus was strong to forgive. A perfect example for us to follow.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for strength to follow Jesus' example of forgiveness. We must follow His example because if we do not forgive others, You will not forgive us. Thank You, God, for sending Jesus to die for our sins. In Jesus' name, I pray! Amen!

Proverb for April Fools' Day

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7).
