Personal Testimony

God has touched my heart with Isaiah 50:4 about how He is working in my life with writing this blog, PAT:

4) The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

When your heart is touched by a message on PAT, that is God's perfect timing with the message you need. To God be the Glory!

Knowledge and Understanding from God

We should not dismiss God nor His means of communicating His wisdom to us. God knows the depths of our hearts and will bring knowledge and understanding to our spirit. He knows what we need and will convict us to open up to Him to help us with our need.

One way God convicts us is through our pastors. Godly pastors feed us with knowledge and understanding. You will know a Godly pastor by what he confesses:

2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (I John 4:2,3).

Through whatever means God shares His Word with us, it is much better to receive His wisdom
than the 'strange gods' of gold and silver.

For your personal study and reference to this entry, please turn to Job 32:8, Proverbs 2:6, Psalms 44:20,21, Jeremiah 3:15, Proverbs 16:16, and I John 4:2,3. You can also refer to this weeks' blog entries on PAT. God Bless you and thanks for reading. I believe God has led you to this sight for a reason. What is He saying to you?

Better Than Gold and Silver

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver (Proverbs 16:16)!

Godly Pastors

Our relationship with God is of utmost importance. We build this relationship at the onset of our belief in Christ through prayer and God's Word. Another way to receive God's Word and build our relationship is through our pastors. We should listen and act in faith on the Spiritual Food God is feeding us through our pastors. When you have the feeling that your pastor is talking directly to you, that is God working through your pastor to bring you His Word.

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15).

Prayer: Thank You God for shedding light on Your Word through pastors along the way. Your Word is always a light unto my path which leads to Jesus. Thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sins. In Jesus' glorious name I pray. Amen.

God Searches Our Hearts

God searches the depths of our hearts and will bring us peace and serenity. All we have to do is simply let Him into our hearts so He can work in us the person He wants us to become. To let God into our hearts, we have to believe in Jesus; we have to communicate with Him in truth and in spirit through prayer; we have to read His Word daily and apply it to our lives.

20) If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
21) Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart (Psalms 44: 20,21).

In knowing the depths of our heart, God convicts us of any sin through the Holy Spirit.

Love Everyone

We should always show brotherly love toward everyone. Some people have unknowingly been hospitable to angels. What if you are one of those people? It is possible. Turn to Hebrews 13:1,2.

Showing brotherly love toward everyone includes those in jail or those going through difficult times. We are to think of them as if we are suffering along with them (Hebrews 13:3).

Everyone means showing no partiality in our love toward others. When we show no partiality, we are fulfilling the scripture of loving our neighbor as ourself (James 2:8,9).

It is through the help of the Lord that we are able to show brotherly love toward everyone (Phillipians 4:13).

Discrimination is Sinful

8) If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:

9) But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law of transgressors (James 2:8,9).

Love and Treat All the Same

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons (James 2:1).

Remember Others

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body (Hebrews 13:3).

Brotherly Love

1) Let brotherly love continue. 2) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares (Hebrews 13:1,2).

Christ's Peace

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

Overcoming Loneliness

Love is the way to overcome loneliness. You show your love for Jesus by following His commandments. When you love Jesus, God, the Father, and Jesus will love you in return. Jesus will also manifest Himself to you (John 14:21). This manifestation is through the Holy Spirit who God sends in Jesus' name to teach us all things and to remind us of Jesus' Words (John 14:26). By drawing closer to God through loving Jesus you have overcome your loneliness by bringing the Trinity--the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit into your life.

Abiding With the Father

"...If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:23).

Submit and Draw Yourself to God

7) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8) "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you..." (James 4:7,8).

Comfort of Christ

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you (John 14:18).

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Spirit of Truth

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:17).

Follow Jesus' Commandments and Abide

15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever (John 14:15,16);

Fellowship in the Light

God is light (I John 1:5). When God (light) sent His Son, Jesus (light), to maybe save the world (John 3:17), men condemned themselves by choosing Satan (darkness) and doing evil deeds (John 3:19). Men who choose to do evil hate the light and do not want anything to do with the light because their evil deeds are revealed and they are reprimanded by the Word of God (John 3:20). Why not choose to banish your sin, your guilt, your shame, now, once and for all, with the light rather than spending eternity in Hell?

All it takes is to believe in Jesus--believe everything about Him--believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit; believe that He lived and performed a ministry of miracles and teaching on earth; believe that He was a sacrifice for our sins on the cross; believe that He arose after His death on the cross; believe that He ascended into heaven where He is today on the right hand of God. Believe in all of these things about Jesus and follow His commandments and you will be fellowshipping with Him in the light and your sins will be cleansed by the blood He shed (I John 1:7). In this fellowship, the light reveals the good deeds that we do all for the glory of God (John 3:21).

Light Manifests Deeds

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God (John 3:21).

Praying and Singing With the Spirit

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also (I Corinthians 14:15).

This verse has been posted for today's National Day of Prayer.

Walk in the Light

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (I John 1:7).

Evil Hates the Light

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (John 3:20).

Messages of Light

This then is the message we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all (I John 1:5).

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (John 3:19).

Burning Heart to Embracing Jesus

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures (Luke 24:32)?

I believe this question is actually a confirmation in the form of a question between Cleopas and companion on the way to Emmaus. They are confirming that their heart did burn when Jesus taught them the scriptures about Himself (Luke 24:27).

Jesus taught them because He realized they were "...slow of heart to believe all that the prophets [had] spoken:" and that Christ had to suffer before entering into His glory (Luke 24:25,26). An interesting point to notice is that Cleopas and friend did not know that it was Jesus teaching them along their walk (Luke 24:16).

Are we still slow to believe the Word of God today? I believe we are. We still have Jesus' presence with us through the Holy Spirit. When you are reading or hearing the Word of God, at times, a warmness occurs in your heart, a burning, which is God trying to tell you something. The only way to approach God's Word is with belief and when you experience the burning in your heart, that is the time to open up even further and receive the Word God has for you.

Referring back to Cleopas and friend, they also received blessed bread from Jesus (Luke 24:30). It was through this blessing that they realized it was Jesus with them (Luke 24:31). You can share the same experience as Cleopas and friend that Jesus is with you, when you open your heart to the bread He has to offer. Embrace the Word. Embrace the bread. Embrace Jesus. Embrace the greatest blessing of all--Eternal life in heaven.
